The beta r8 Gnome image for Beagleboard and Overo is available in the Downloads section.  The r8 image is built using primarily Gnome 2.27.5 packages.  Future beta releases will track the Gnome 2.27 development releases, with a stable 2.28 release scheduled for September.

The r8 release adds photo import using gphoto2 and gthumb:

While there are still many rough spots, the image is quite usable.

The image includes:

• Basic system preferences and configuration applets
• Web browser, email, and chat applications
• Word processor, spreadsheet, graphics, photo, and PDF viewing applications
• Media player with DVD playback
• Gnome games
• Calculator applet
• Command line package manager (opkg)
