The beta r9 Gnome image for Beagleboard and Overo is available in the Downloads section.  The r9 image is built using primarily Gnome 2.27.5 packages.  Future beta releases will track the Gnome 2.27 development releases, with a stable 2.28 release scheduled for December.

In addition to bug fixes, the r9 release adds German, French, and Spanish language support, as well as disk usage analyzer and log file viewing tools:

While there are still many rough spots, the image is quite usable.

The image includes:

• Basic system preferences and configuration applets
• Web browser, email, and chat applications
• Word processor, spreadsheet, graphics, photo, and PDF viewing applications
• Media player with DVD playback
• Gnome games
• Calculator applet
• Command line package manager (opkg)
