Instructions for using the files to create a bootable SD or microSD card can be found here.
After booting the image, login as user root with password root.
NOTE: If the Volume Control applet does not appear in the upper right of the top menu bar (or if you get an error dialog when running System/Preferences/Sound), please enter the following command into a Terminal window:
cp /etc/gdm/PreSession/Default.orig /etc/gdm/PreSession/Default
