This image includes a Gnome root file system with:

• Basic system preferences and configuration applets
• Web browser, email, and chat applications
• Word processor, spreadsheet, graphics, photo, and PDF viewing applications
• Media player with DVD playback
• Gnome games
• Calculator applet
• Disk usage analyzer and log file viewing tools
• Command line package manager (opkg)

Matching boot loaders and linux kernels are also provided.  Download the versions of MLO, u-boot, and uImage that are appropriate for your machine.  The gnome rootfs tar.bz2 image will work on all OMAP3 based machines.

Instructions for using the files to create a bootable SD or microSD card can be found here.

After booting the image, login as user root with password root.

NOTE: If the Volume Control applet does not appear in the upper right of the top menu bar (or if you get an error dialog when running System/Preferences/Sound), please enter the following command into a Terminal window:

cp /etc/gdm/PreSession/Default.orig  /etc/gdm/PreSession/Default

This problem will be fixed in the next beta release
